New Clinical Trial Investigating the Benefits of Yoga for Diabetes Management.

Troy, Michigan – A revolutionary clinical trial aiming to evaluate the effectiveness of yoga as a complementary approach to managing diabetes will be starting from June 12, 2023. The study, spearheaded by a leading endocrinologist and healthcare expert, seeks to further our understanding of the potential benefits of holistic, non-pharmaceutical interventions for diabetes management.

In collaboration with distinguished yoga practitioners and experts, the trial will explore how specific yoga practices, including asanas (poses), pranayama (breathing exercises), and meditation, can affect blood glucose levels, insulin sensitivity, and overall diabetes control.

"We believe that the integration of yoga into routine diabetes care could significantly improve patient well-being and disease management," said Dr. Ashish Verma of Endocrine and Metabolic Disorder Center, the lead investigator of the trial. "Our aim is to gather robust scientific evidence to demonstrate yoga's potential role in diabetes care."

The clinical trial, set to run over 12 weeks, is now open for recruitment, seeking participants who have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Participation is voluntary and will require commitment to regular yoga sessions, delivered virtually, alongside routine diabetes management practices.

"We are thrilled to be at the forefront of this pioneering research. Given the promising initial evidence, we are optimistic about what this trial could mean for future diabetes care," said Dr. Ashish Verma
